TABLE 1
d% roll
method used
d 01-20 Election: Democratic election at a regular meeting by a quorum of members. Ballots are to be secret only if requested; otherwise by a show of hands. If no one achieves a majority, a run-off election is held between the two most popular contenders. If a tie results, roll again.
d 21-26 Duel: The contestants duel with their choice of non-lethal weaponry, in an elimination tournament. If no agreement can be reached about the dueling method, or if there are an inconvenient number of candidates, roll again
d 27-35 Contest: The contestants "duel" by an agreed-upon verbal means (e.g. a riddle game) in an elimination tourney; otherwise as "Duel" above.
d 36-45 Virtual Duel: As Duel, above, but contestants create characters in an agreed-upon RPG system and the characters fight. This is not a tournament, but a single event.
d 46-66 Game Duel: The candidates play a tournament of any board game in the Game Closet (selected by consensus or random roll among those games which the correct number can play).
d 67-72 Selection: The Autocrat selects the officer. If Autocrat is the position being chosen, the outgoing Autocrat makes the selection. If s/he isn't available, roll again.
d 73-78 Seniority: The candidate with the most quarters in the club wins. If equal, the candidate with most quarters in the University. If still equal, roll again.
d 79-99 Random Selection: The candidates roll dice, the high roll winning the position. See Subtable 1a for the type of dice to roll.
d 00 Privilege of Obsession: The candidate with the largest game collection wins.
