Skiffy

the University of Chicago's
science fiction & gaming club

(no, it's not a brand of peanut butter)

So Long, and Thanks for All the Fish!

Yeah, So. Skiffy is Dead. You mean, like, Dead-Dead? Like Dead-Dead.

as you may gather from the statement above, the club known as skiffy doesn't really exist any more. we sort of fizzled. it was fun while it lasted, but sadly it's over now. we leave up our page as a tribute to the good times we had and as inspiration for further insanity, should some being, at some future date, choose to instigate such.

Welcome! As you may have gathered from the above, Skiffy is a non-food substance. In fact, Skiffy is a very specific non-food substance: the University of Chicago's Science Fiction & Gaming Club. We get together on a weekly basis for the purpose of sharing and/or reading and/or discussing SciFi and/or Fantasy and/or Horror novels, short stories, movies, hypotheses, religions, etc. Said weekly gatherings also involve playing and/or discussing and/or making up card games, board games, role playing games, etc. Occasionally, we plan something more ambitious: bringing in an outside speaker, taking trips to local conventions, bookstores, gaming stores, or whatever else may strike our fancy!

Meetings begin January 8! All are welcome!

Skiffy meets every Wednesday night in rooms 216 & 217 of Ida Noyes Hall (the really big building at the corner of 59th & Woodlawn that isn't Rockefeller Chapel) from 7pm-12am. Everyone interested (students, grad students, faculty, staff, ordinary people, nonordinary people, nameless horrors, aliens, etc.) is welcome and encouraged to drop on by (though we'd really like it if nameless horrors gave us warning first).
